Fradley Junction and the Trent & Mersey Canal

Our first stop this morning was at the Plough at Huddlesford where we planned to have coffee at 10:30 but they were not open until noon so on we went.
We stopped at the boatyard at Streethay Wharf to buy some odds and sods and were welcomed by the new owners. This is where we had some over plating done on our previous boat together with a complete repaint.
We ploughed on past lots of housing. One such house had a huge plate glass window so time for reflections!

One of the most famous junctions on the canal system is at Fradley where the Coventry canal joins the Trent and Mersey. It is notoriously busy but we were very surprised to find very few boats there. It certainly the quietest that we have ever seen it. The junction is dominated by the Swan pub where we had lunch.

Once again we find ourselves in a remote spot for the evening just beyond Wood End lock.
